HOW TO DEVELOP SELF-CONFIDENCE BY AUTO-SUGGESTION
I have said over and again throughout this series that self-confidence is a major requirement for destiny fulfilment. Without it achieving purpose will be very difficult or impossible.
In this 3rd Part you will learn how to develop self-confidence through what is called auto-suggestion. This method is carried out by constantly repeating positive statements to yourself or by reciting quotes, poems or Bible quotations that you have memorized or written down. Whenever you are doing this; you say or recite the quotes, poems or power statements to yourself; you do it with passion and emotion.
The Secret to understanding this method is captured in the quote by Napoleon Hill.(Author of the book 'Think and Grow Rich) read below:
He Said "Any statement that you repeatedly make to yourself, or any desire that you deeply plant in your mind through repeated statement, will eventually seek expression through your physical, outward bodily efforts". This means if you plant self confidence you reap self confidence. If you Force yourself to read or talk confidently. You will eventually not only become confident or bold in talking but you will become confident in the other areas of your life.
HOW TO CARRY OUT AUTO-SUGGESTION
Go into a quiet place preferably where you pray, study or meditate. Some persons call this place their secret place or laboratory but whatever you call it makes no difference so long as this place provides you with quietness and no disturbance or interruptions.
Get your quotes, positive power statement(s) or open the bible passage you wish to use. It's preferable that you write out or even type out the quotes or poem you want to use.
Then recite the quotations while standing. As you talk; picture yourself before a large gathering doing a talk confidently, courageously and forcefully.
Note: this whole process will look awkward to you at first but as you continue, you will start enjoying it. And in fact you wouldn’t want to stop it for anything because it will produce the confidence you so desire and make you a bold person also make you more fluent in your communication with others.
Start with these quotes and poems which I have provided below. As you get better you can add others that you find exciting!
ENJOY!
Poem
Man is of soul and body formed for deeds
Of high resolve; on fancy’s boldest wing
To soar unwearied, fearlessly to turn
The keenest pangs to peacefulness, and taste
The Joys which mingled sense and spirit yield
Or he is formed for abjectness and woe,
To grovel on the dunghill of his fears
To shrink at every sound, to quench the flame
Of natural love in sensualism, to know
That hour as blest when on his worthless days
The frozen hand of death shall set it’s seal,
Yet fear the cure, though hating the disease
The one is man that shall hereafter be,
The other, man as vice has made him now.
-Shelley.
Poem
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you like to win, but you think you can’t;
It is almost certain you won’t.
If you think you‘ll lose you‘ve lost,
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will –
It’s all in the state of the mind.
If you think you are out-classed, you are-
You‘ve got to think high to rise.
You‘ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

Poem
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced or cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
- Henley
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, ye are gods; and all of you are the children of the most high. But you shall die like men and fall like one of the princes.
- Psalm 82:5-7
There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low places. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth
- Ecclesiastes 10:5-7
And when He was come near, He beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things that belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from thine eyes.
-Luke 19:42
“For it is true that life is a pilgrimage of discovery.
The discovery of the values that shapes our lives,
The discovery of the peoples and nations to which all are bound in solidarity.
While this voyage of discovery is most evident in the lives of the youth,
It is a voyage that never ends.
The world needs young people who have drunk at the sources of truth.
You must form within yourselves a deep sense of responsibility.
So do not be afraid to commit your lives to peace and justice,
For you know that the lord is with you in all your ways.”
(A message to young people of the world)
-Pope John Paul II
Poem
You never can tell what a thought will do
In bringing you hate or love
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings,
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe, each things creates its kind
And they speed o’er the track to bring you back,
Whatever went from your mind.
-Ella Wheeler Wilcox.
Every adversity brings along with it the seed of an equivalent advantage
– Napoleon Hill
Poem
Thoughts Are Things
I hold it true that thoughts are things;
They’re endowed with bodies
and breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill
The world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought
Speeds forth to earth’s remotest spot,
Leaving its blessings or its woes
Like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought,
For good or ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought.
Thought is another name for fate;
Choose then thy destiny and wait,
For love brings love and hate brings hate.
-Henry Van Dyke.
Many who succeed in life got off to a bad start and pass through many heartbreaking experiences and struggles before they arrived. (Sometimes you have to experience many failures and love disappointments)
– Napoleon Hill.
The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crises, through which they are introduced to “their other selves”
– Napoleon Hill.
You can’t start another chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

Every proverb, every book, every byword that belongs to you for aid and comfort shall surely come home through open or winding passages, every friend whom not your fantastic will, but the great and tender soul in you craves shall lock you in his embrace.
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
Your destiny lies not in the stars but on the earth itself in your own heart; your destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the choice of opportunity. So a wise person seizes his opportunity not in fear but in gladness.
- (America’s 37th President) Richard M. Nixon.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
—Teddy Roosevelt
The good news is that the moment you decide that what you know is more important than what you have been taught to believe, u will have shifted gears in your quest for abundance, success comes from within, not from without.
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
